Palace on wheels is obviously the crown of luxury trains in India and the world, but it is not alone. There are new luxury trains on the line of Palace on Wheels and introducing discerning travelers to places other than the ones part of Palace on Wheels itinerary. There is a new train "Deccan Odyssey" that starts from Mumbai every week on Wednesday and takes the tourists through the Western Ghat region of Maharashtra (inclusive of Ajanta-Ellora, Aurangabad, Pune, Sindhudurg) and Goa. Rajasthan Tourism and Indian Railway has jointly lanunched Heritage on Wheels that covers now famed "Shekhawati" region of Rajasthan known as the open art gallery of Rajasthan.
